Synopsis
Where I Got My Name is a two-part documentary journey through Mississippi and Louisiana, following Gerald LeNoir as he traces the lives of his enslaved ancestors across plantations, courthouses, archives, and historic sites. As he uncovers fragments of a family history long obscured by silence and erasure, Gerald confronts the enduring legacy of slavery and the ways it continues to shape identity, memory, and belonging across generations.
