God Sleeps On Sundays
Directed by Naishe Nyamubaya
Synopsis
On land owned by a revered village healer, an uncompromising preacher arrives determined to impose his faith, igniting a battle between Christianity and Zimbabwe's ancestral traditions. Caught between them is Mavis, a woman who embodies a nation divided between two worlds. A searing meditation on cultural erasure, religious imperialism, and the enduring power of traditions that refuse to disappear.
