A Beacon of Resilience: St Joseph's Boxing Club

Set in Newport, Wales, A Beacon of Resilience enters St. Joseph's Boxing Gym, a vital sanctuary for young people from Black, African diasporic, and socially underserved communities. More than a place to train, the gym offers discipline, belonging, mentorship, and hope. Through intimate interviews, observational footage, and archival material, the film reveals how coaches and young people transform isolation, inequality, and uncertainty into confidence, purpose, and collective strength.
